Gargoyle 11cover etching by Scott McIntyrepublication date 5/25/1979
(for Phil Wong-Cross)
Philip is out there,
out there in rich white man’s country;
they want to stuff him full of dark meat turkey,
stolen from his red brother’s forest.
Crystal glasses filled with wine, not tea;
hot plum pudding, not sweet rice cakes.
They want Philip’s ass,
they want his fingernails;
to build their railroads,
to press their pants.
Philip’s not afraid,
he has the fish head in his pocket.
