Ambrosia (Billy Liar)
Billy Liar is the 1963 film, directed by John Schlesinger, and co-starring Julie Christie, in which the title character, played by Tom Courtenay, lives most freely, and most fully, in a world of his own imagination — primarily, the kingdom of Ambrosia, over which he rules, and in which, he is, indisputably, a hero.
Lisa Andrews is the author of The Inside Room (Indolent Books, 2018), and Dear Liz (Indolent Books, 2016). Publications include Cagibi, Cordella, Gargoyle, Painted Bride Quarterly, POSTstranger, and Zone 3, as well as the Braving the Body Anthology (Harbor Editions, 2024), edited by Nicole Callihan, Pichchenda Bao, and Jennifer Franklin. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, artist Tony Geiger.
