Half-mast

Woman died after driving off H-1 Freeway. Police confirmed the driver collided with tiger sharks battling sea turtles before launching off the overpass. Many people are being reactive. State seeks to debunk misinformation. Warning signs were posted at half-mast: Aggressive tiger sharks spotted off Electric Beach. Kanna raked his fingers through oily hair, “I posted bullshit on-line about it.”

A house burned a tree as Kanna laughed. An investigation is ongoing, but books are being banned and some auntie is sure to blow his cover. It’s the island grapevine after all. “This new system, stay buss already.” He pointed at the sky. It gave me chicken skin.

Red Hill Fuel Storage Facility spilled. Sickened thousands and threatened the main aquifer for Honolulu. We fed poisoned soup to children and watched them vomit. “Our job is nowhere close to being done.” Kanna mocked as he clawed his shirt.

Health officials claim tainted wells are no longer contaminated though filtered waters are released to streams, indefinitely. OSHA demands answers. King waves rage. “Time is running out, Kanna.”

In an effort to reduce overcrowding, even if it’ll never land on our radar, we drank lunar elixirs on a rusted-out Plymouth Belvedere where fifteen things marked End times. We watched a naked man catch brutal beatings. A parking meter told him to stay over 22 hours. “Revenge travel is still a thing,” Kanna burbled. “Crazy shit.” Kanna wobbles as the sky pulsed blue, “It is the appearance of the antichrist!”

“Baka, as the cops.”
