I Am the One
Ian Ferrier (1954 – 3 November 2023) was a Canadian poet, musician, and cultural arts organizer. As co-founder of the Wired on Words record label, longtime organizer of The Words and Music Show, author of four chapbooks, and member of the voice/music fusion collective Pharmakon MTL, he was a central figure in the Montreal music, poetry, and spoken word scene from the 1990s until his death in 2023.
Catherine Kidd is a Montreal-based writer/performer, best known for her zoological rhyming monologues that blur the boundaries between theatre, poetry and spoken word. Her multimedia solo creations have wowed audiences from Oslo to Capetown, New York to Glastonbury. Kidd’s most recent creation Hyena Subpoena toured to 50+ performances from Montreal to Singapore. Published as a cd/book, the script garnered nominations for the Raymond Souster Award and A. M. Klein Prize for Poetry.
