Burning The Empty Ax

Harrison Fisher

A man standing by a tree
without an ax can do
little. He can break twigs
and small branches, rake leaves
with his fingers, pluck off
nuts, fruits, and growths.
But a tree towers over a man.
A tree is 5/7 of an ax.
