Another Poem

Andrew Darlington

I shortly intend to
declare myself a republic.
Why suffer the continued
aristocracy of the mind?
(With Occasional Opposition
from the penis.) Why not
representative government
of the fingers and toes,
a democracy of gut,
bone and nose. Organic U.D.I.
the supreme body politics.
Independent intestines.
The release of the rectum.
Self-determining epidermis.
Limbs and lungs liberated,
feet and fibula freed from
cerebral dictatorship with votes for larynx, teeth and
pubescence. Revolutionize the retina.
Strike your blow for the proletariat of the person. Now-
Throw away your mind
and free your body!
